“I am truly grateful for Michael and Mitchell Webb and all that assisted them with the book "Beyond Tithes and Offerings". I am 43 years old and have been a church attendee since my birth...
“I recall the extra time taken up for the ‘tithers’ to strut to the front of the church to pay their ‘tithes’. Because I was confused and not sure of what to do (wanting desperately to be obedient to God) I tithed, but I never walked up front. I was told that I should walk up front since the amount that I was giving appeared to be a tithe. I refused and was accused of being disobedient. I requested that my name not be posted in the church lobby with the amount given for all to see. Some people religiously looked at the posting every week commenting on who gave what.
“Even though I ‘gave 10% of my salary’ one day I realized that my giving was troubling me. One day I was sitting in a church service and the Lord spoke to my heart (about 16 years ago) to give what I was putting in the envelope to a fellow sister in the congregation. It was a substantial amount of money and I questioned if I was truly hearing from the Lord. He told me that if I gave it to her I would be giving to Him. With tears I shook her hand and slipped the money in her hand trying to be as discreet as possible. I looked at her as to say this is between the two of us and the Lord. I told her that I was being obedient to the voice of the Lord. She had not looked in her hand at that time. Later she met me outside with tears streaming down her face. She told me that she had left home that morning with only enough money to take transportation to church and had no idea how she was going to get home. She said that the Lord told her that He would make a way. And He did. I began to cry and knew that I had been so blessed for being obedient.
“Well to make a long story short I shouted for joy when I found your book. Your book is the only book that I have found which presents such an intelligent, full of evidence and information book. I praise God for it. I have tried to share the message of the book with some of my Christian friends, but they feel that they would be labeled a heretic if they dared even think about not ‘tithing’. They are missing the message. There are so many people who need help.
“GM is on strike and families are beginning to suffer. There are homeless people who need some love shown to them. Students don't have their college tuition and September is coming. “Thank you so much for publishing this God inspired book. For years I had been fighting with the law of the 10%. I love to give to those in need and also believe in giving to the local church. But being put under the law i couldn't freely give to the local church as i freely gave to those in need. I found i had so much joy in helping others but when it came to giving a required amount at the local church it was always a big issue to me and i had fought it for a long time...
“I know that many people will not receive it (the book), as well as many who will be glad to finally hear and see that someone has taken a bold step to bring freedom to those who have been kept in bondage...
